Every five minutes, a woman in the U.S. is told she has lung cancer. In fact, lung cancer is the No. 1 cancer killer of women, yet only 1 percent of women claim lung cancer as “top of mind.” LUNG FORCE is hoping to change that with a series of events and social media promotions. Join the South Florida Education Center (SFEC) by showing your support for LUNG FORCE – it’s easy!
For National Women’s Lung Health Week (May 7-13, 2017), join the SFEC and participate in the annual Turquoise Takeover in these three ways:
- Upload your own video on social media illustrating how you Show Your LUNG FORCE, using the hashtag #ShowYourLUNGFORCE.
- Tag three of your friends and challenge them to do the same.
- Donate directly from the LUNG FORCE Facebook page or donate on the LUNG FORCE website. 100 percent of proceeds will go toward lung cancer research.
The SFEC would like to spread the word about lung cancer here on campus, but we need your help! Share a photo of yourself wearing turquoise (with #turquoiseSFEC) on campus at any one of the five schools that make up the SFEC campus including, Nova Southeastern University, Florida Atlantic University (FAU), Broward College, McFatter Technical College or the University of Florida (UF).
LUNG FORCE, led by the American Lung Association, works to unite women to stand together against lung cancer and for lung health. Take the pledge to learn more about how you can share your voice or visit http://www.lungforce.org.
