The Student Emergency Ride Home (ERH) program provides free taxi service for registered student commuters who attend one of the outstanding educational institutions located on the South Florida Education Center (SFEC) campus: Broward College, Florida Atlantic University, McFatter Technical College, Nova Southeastern University, and the University of Florida.

When can I use the Emergency Ride Home program?
The ERH program can be used in the event of an unexpected emergency 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Think of it as "commuter insurance."

Who can participate?
The program is available to students who carpool, vanpool, ride the bus, take the train, bicycle, or walk to campus at least two days a week.

Eligible "emergency" situations include:

  1. Illness of the commuter or a member of his/her immediate family
  2. Unscheduled or extended school hours
  3. A carpool/vanpool driver's inability to make the scheduled trip home due to an unexpected school schedule or illness

Each registered ERH program participant is allowed up to six free emergency rides per year. A qualified voucher must be given to the taxi company to utilize the service. This does not include gratuity for the taxi driver.
